What is left unanswered, and likely will remain such because it is of no benefit to get an answer, is: Of piracy were impossible what percentage of people pirating software now would end up actually buying it? The industry likes to make out that 100% of all pirated software would be bought at the price it sells for now (thus they count it as lost revenue), if piracy didn't exist.
