Just wait like I did with PS2. I bought a new slim when it hit $100 and tons of great games for $10 or less.
Ive yet to buy an HD console but I would end up getting a PS3 for the simple reason that its getting the definitive versions of certain multiplats. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Eternal Sonata and Tales of Vesperia to name a few. A $200 PS3 wont come around till next generation starts though so we both have a long wait.
