Well, newer higher quality LCD's are starting to take the lead. My old HDtv is a Panasonic Viera plasma 37inch 720p (it can handle 1080p feed but it's native pixel resolution is somethin like 1366x768) and my new Samsung 37inch 1080p 100hz LCD seems to have the edge on it colour wise, well after you turn on the dynamic contrast.
