To Europe, which is still the richest continent on Earth, 1 billion dollars is pocket change. This is simply to set an example to agressive, highly capitalist American companies that they need to show some moral restraint and respect their competitors and the consumer.

Europe is the richest continent on Earth? Are Canada and Mexico that poor?  I mean the EU's GDP is only a little bit greater then the US GDP.
