And let's be optimistic and say they sell 5 million until then like last year (unlikely since sales are down YoY). This means the price cut would have to increase sales by 60% in the November - March period. That's what leads me to conclude that if they really want to sell 13 million, a price cut has to come well before the holidays.

Keep in mind that many companies pad their "expected sales" figures. It's especially easy to do in an environment like this, where you can just blame it on the economic downturn if you miss the marks.
Stop getting so excited about a Kid Icarus remake... the original NES Icarus sucked.
