Agreed. I think Sony is doing some really bold moves, probably in the expectation that the dollar and Euro don't crash again, and that the recession doesn't last too long.
It could turn out to be a great move, but the risk is also big. Like a guy who doesn't save any money and hears about upcoming layoffs at his company, but decides to borrow money and buy a Ferrari anyway.
