Sony's older demographic is probably why it will have a shorter life than the Xbox 360.
I don't think so, I think gamers are getting older (because our parents and grandparents did not grow up with video games, they are still watching movies though).
As the PS3 entry pricing drops, I expect the PS3 to start to feast more on the XBox 360's teen market with a slimline console. Current teens can always graduate towards a PS3.
I think neither console stands a real chance against Nintendo regarding preteens, nomatter how much the 360's pricing drops. It's just not a preteen appealing console (and I think parents prefer their preteen kids to own a console which is dominated by cute gaming).
