I consider myself quite good at FPS's. I playthrough all FPS's first time on the hardest setting. Hence Veteran on COD4. At first I loved the game. But very very quickly the game pissed me off. Why? The AI is actually dumb as Sh*t. It is made harder by constant continuation of respawning enemies. Now the problem is that takes away ANY strategy at all. Try this. Sit and constantly sniper enemies in building windows. If you dont make a suicidal run for the building after taking out some, they will always respawn. You can sit in the same place for over an hour and still be shooting enemies in the same window. LOL. It's pathetic to be honest. A cheap way to make the game hard. ( Which it wasnt as I finished it on Veteran first time in less than 9 hours. Totally ruined what would have been an immersive experience. See a game like Halo 3 does not have respawning enemies. On Legendary the enemy will attempt to take you out with strategy, not constant respawn. How anyone can consider COD4 good AI, or robust SP is beyond me. It's MP is good, but has it's flaws to the competition. It's more successful on PS3 ( Live Halo 3 is top not COD4 for players ) purely I think because PS3's best shooter was COD4 for ages. But R2 and KZ2 are both better games on PS3. People need to stop feeding sh*t games credit. COD4 gets acclaim and a game like Ninja Blade does not. That frustrates me about the review media. I really want to put a review team together and start a company. One which isnt biased to hype. |
I'm flabergasted... Suggesting that Halo 3 has a superior SP campeign because it's harder? Wow, sure if you just throw everything else out of the window that actually makes a good SP I supose you could say that. The reason that COD4 responds enemies is to give the immersive feeling that your in war, not to be unimmersive. What is more real when you are out in war, you kill 10 guys and walk on through, or does backup come running in? COD is one of the only series that actually simulates this realisticly. Now if you wanted to say that COD5 veteren mode was hard for all the wrong reasons I'd agree, because if you actually played the game it's all luck and no skill. Either they throw six gernades at you and you die, or you don't. As for COD4 having a bad SP, it's actually considered my many, reviewers also to have one of the best SP campaigns around. It has a great story, some increadible sequences, and many shocking and gripping moments. Meanwhile, Halo 3's campeign is pure mediocre. It's SP campeign is that of a 6-7 rated game. I think I had more fun playing Eat Lead (an awfully mediocre title) then I did with the Halo campaign. At least it was funny and entertaining. Also, Halo's AI is hardly one of the most advanced in gaming, it actually is pretty mediocre too. And the ally AI is plain out aweful at times. If anything Halo has a great multiplayer offering that redeems it, but it's SP? Utter shit.
