@ Gameman

Microsoft hasn't been a small company regarding gaming since ever Sony got into gaming (remember Doom, Quake, Half-Life, Civilization, etc). Those former PC gaming only companies are now focussing more and more on consoles.

Relatively Windows gaming has lost a lot of ground compared to the good gains seen with consoles.

For example, I was a PC gamer ever since the mid late 90s, but no more, although that's not a direct result of Microsoft doings (I would have made the switch anyhow due to the advancements in console technology and HDTVs).

But IMO Microsoft has really pushed the XBox 360 to the disadvantage of their Windows PC efforts the last couple of years.

This thread is not about PC gaming Mike.  Look at the topic and first post.

Way to go off-topic AGAIN.  Let me guess.  You want to divert attention away from the OP's assertion that:

"That means Microsoft effectively erased Sony's 11 years of montrous success and put them on an even keel with themselves."

And instead degenerate this into a a "failures of Windows gaming" thread.
