MS indirectly profits from Blizzard PC sales. They made a pretty big deal with Blizzard to handle advertising over Battle.net.

The future of pc gaming is gonna be browser based along the lines of InstantAction's service or Quake Live. PopCap games and its ilk will also continue to help pc gaming grow.

I completely disagree in that regard, how many people upgrade their PC year on year so they can run games at the highest settings.  The hardcore market will always want better graphics and this will not be possible through remote gaming.

That is a good question, how many. It isn't anywhere near the majority of pc gamers.

Traditionally PC gaming hardware is produced for the PC hardcore market then bundled down to a mass market price.  In order for their desire to be satisfied graphics must be better than those that preceeded it on new releases.  Even WoW gamers upgrade their PC's from time to time to run at better settings, once a true PC gamer you'll desire better performance. If you all believe we'll be playing through browsers in the future though I'll leave you to it.
