This is why most people choose to trust review agregators like Gamerankings or Metacritic ...
IGN, Gamespy, Gamespot, EGM or whatever will each review a game with their own preferences in mind and can (on an individual basis) end up being biased due to external influences. The average review (and the distribution of the scores) gives a fairly well ballanced view of the game.
