You are right.. i don't agree with Sony's strategy either but when i see their persistance and when i see the economic condition and especially Sony's own condition i don't see that they can launch another console.
Console launches are expensive, they need time, resources, infrastructure, now atleast they have console around which they have build an infrastructure, its billions of dollars of infrasture in the shape of PSN, Home, compilers, game engines, OS and suddenly they can't just abandon it and start over again.. it will kill them financially.
I see that the only way they can survive is to persist with it.. and honestly speaking the main problem i see they have NOW is of console price.. rest of the PS3 issues have been well taken care of. they have truly unique and wide variety of high quality games and MultiPlatform has become much better on it too. we are seeing good software support also from the developers now.
So i don't understand how people think that launching a new console will save Sony Money.? how they will save money if they launch a new console in 2 yrs.?
