"We developed brand new, absolutely incredible technology for the PlayStation 3 (PS3), but the cost was high", Stringer told Nikkei Electronics Asia. "We've adopted a slightly different approach now, and are evolving the PS3 into a platform for web services".
So if they feel that PS3 is evolving than how ppl are expecting to have such a short life.? i mean the management of Sony is definitely seeing potential and they can take full benefit out of it, if it has a longer life span..
I wander why ppl are so adverse to the idea that PS3 is going to live a bit longer .. it doesn't mean it will be as successful as PS2 or Wii but.. when Sony have put so much in the infrastructure and technology in PS3 and they are making it center of their services than how can they dump it suddenly.?
