I remember at E3 in 2006, Matt from IGN was asked by Miyamoto if he would buy a new Kid Icarus game if it was created, and he responded yes.
Miyamoto then said he'd talk to the director of Kid Icarus about the idea of a new game but I haven't heard anything since.
