After PS2 sells through next March it will have lasted 10 years. It already has more games than the GameCube and XBox combined, and is estimated to have 1900 games by the end of the year.
You think PS3 will be selling in November 2016? How many games will it have by then? Right now it has the fewest games out of the 3 major systems.
In November 2016 making a game for the PS3 will make as much business sense as making new XBox and GameCube games today. It doesn't happen. Even with price cuts. Price cuts didn't save the GameCube, and it was even the cheapest system last generation.
