I don't think he is missing the point of Halo 3, I think he has it right on. Reviewers are constantly giving big hype games that turn out to be good perfect 10s but they don't deserve it. A 10 implies perfection, and a game isn't perfect if half of it (i.e. the single player) is passable or good but not great.
