If you detonate the bomb in Megaton a lot of the people end up as ghouls or zombies or whatever you want to call them...I thought I'd lost the chance to do her wasteland quests but sure enough she set up shop in the Underworld.

 

But I thought you turn into a ghoul by radiation.. Not by being in the immediate vicinity of a nuclear bomb..

All that would be left of them would be shadows.. Well, I would detonate the bomb anyway, I'm not a mad man.

That's why I thought everyone was dead after the blast, what with the bomb being slap bang in the middle of town. I was really glad to run into her again. Maybe when the bomb goes off it takes the top layers of skin off, leaving the flesh to become immediately affected by the radiation...

The actual explosion/blast was so spectacular it was well worth detonating
