Sacrifice: Forfeiture of something highly valued for the sake of one considered to have a greater value or claim. IMO you're ignoring the fact that the PS3 has plenty of "non-HD" games, despite being marketed as an HD console - yet you continue to ignore this or you just come up with illogical justifications. 3rd parties are free to do what they want. Sony's trying to push developers to use the SPEs and other distinguishing aspects between the two consoles, not all developers do. If you're so sure that this can be done than I'm sure you won't have a problem posting it Feel free to quote me, but of course in context linking back to the original post. AA, since no consumer in their right mind gives a damn about that It makes the images less jaggy (look at your first posted picture). At 1080p it doesn't matter that much anymore, especially in combination with constantly changing lighting and such. But at 640p (or 576p for PS2 games), as you can see AA can be of great benefit. Now watch as MikeB selectivly answers only parts of this post.... Still referring to you Lair comment I still don't have a clue of what you are talking about and you fail to clarify? |
1. Compromises are part of game development. Sacrifice has all sorts of negative connotations, and you make it seem like this sort of thing is unusual. Wether or not Bungie made the right choice is debatably, but you seem more intent on claiming the PS3 can handle the game at TruHDtm than actual debate.
2. That doesn't change the fact that they market the system as HD, yet have titleson it that aren't. Both MS and Sony have the final say about what does and does not go on their system - so you can say both are misleading their customers.
3. Hmm, maybe you realize how stupid those claims sound now... not that taking them in context changes anything. Have some balls and back your argument on a forum you claim is visit regularly. Impress me, show me that you really think the PS3 is that powerful. Stand up for your convicitions, or admit that that claim was stupid; the burden of proof is on you, not me.
4. I know what AA does, but I also know that its not some feature the average joe knows about. Furthermore, its not something thats been plastered on advertising material, as you were implying.
5. I thought I this made clear, but I guess you cant grasp it. Maybe I choose a high profile PS3 title and then decided to make a big deal about its relativly minor scaling issue to make a statement about the absurdity of your obsession with Halo 3's resolution.
