Double the firepower. :) And, unlike a racing game, it's cooperative. Also, unlike a racing game, when you let go of the controls, the fighter stops moving, so you can get used to it easily. It only took me 3 games to get used to it. I would still screw up every now and then, but the intimidation of it fades away quickly, and then you're hooked. It's hard to give up the opportunity to kick ass with double the firepower. Not only that, you can cover more area on the screen without having to move as much.
Regarding bullet dodging... Duality ZF has a small hitbox for the fighters and the bullets. You need a direct hit to die. The game modes on display are hard modes (see top-right corner). Most people will play in Normal. Training mode has 1/10th the bullets as Normal, so there's a ridiculously large range of difficulty modes. There's one for everyone for certain. Our beta testers range from people who never play video games (ever) to self proclaimed shmup kings. ;)
