Well, the ice would melt anyways in a cocktail. It's the melting of the ice that cools the drink. The West Wing gives bad politicol advice, so I'm not surprised it seeps out to other things. Hard liquer is mixed with water anyways to reach the desired proof. No one calls 80 proof vodka watered down even though it is about 60% water. Chilled vodka is slightly syrupy, so depending on what you were mixing with it you might need to do it more vigourously then a stir. |
