What a thing to come back to. Was he permabanned that many times as well as IP banned as an accident, or just to be funny? Either way, it is a farewell that befits him - if I had to choose a way to be banned, it would be that way. The many-times-permabanned thing, not the "slow down the whole website" thing.

Anyway.

Oyvoyvoyv was one of my favorite members - very talkative and initially standoffish in his own goofy way, but personable and friendly for anyone who appreciated his sense of humor, which was often very good.

I remember he told me he had never really played a Kirby game, in spite of what his avatar might have suggested. I suggested one for him to pick up, and he was an instant convert. At least, I think this is what happened. I'm just going to assume it was, because it's the kind of joke he would have made.

I liked him as a poster. He made good posts and was always quick with numbers. A number-crunching kinda guy. Pretty funny, though his sense of humor often strayed far from the beaten path. Getting his jokes was like being part of a secret club, and I'm not going to lie that I had a lot of fun with the whole joke about him, me, noname, and Smeags being the same person, even if I didn't run with it as often as I should have.

He liked Fire Emblem. There is a lot to say for a person who enjoys Fire Emblem: they are a rare and precious breed outside of Japan, and should be held in higher esteem. He gave good advice, and it was always interesting hearing about him playing through any of the games again because he would always relate them as if they were his first time. I liked that. Come to think of it, he was probably one of the major reasons I sat down with Path of Radiance and actually bought Radiant Dawn.

I'll miss him.
