Rath said: @Saviour. So you're saying that you cannot say that Hitler was a bad person? Or that Jesus was a good person? Afterall, both of those are judgements.
As for atheists not having explanations for things, a lot of us look long and hard for explanations. Usually explanations can be found through things like logic and the scientific method. |
By judgments, I mean people I meet in my own life. Hitler was one of the worst people in history, there is absolutely NO dispute about that. That is why I hope there is a God, because if there is, Hitler has a place to go to account for his atrocities, instead of dying like a coward and taking his own life, avoiding punishment.

What if god forgives him? What if god forgives everybody. It was a very common belief among christianity early on.
God forgives all, and basically your only punishment is to know you've dissapointed the person who created you. Basically you were a failed product.

This more complex than I am about to tell you, but God usually only forgives people willing to repent. Hitler committed the ULTIMATE sin of murder AND Suicide. You usually have to be alive to be forgiven to prepare for the next life. Last time I checked, Hitler never apologized.
I think people in hell stay there, or else the entities suffering in Hell for centuries would eventually get sick of it and become truly sorry. So no, I don't think God forgives the hell-bent.

This was not always the case in christianity however. There were many sects that believe god forgives everybody... regardless of everything. Those who were faithful were his favorites, but everyone was still forgiven.
Most were murdered by the catholic church during the purges.
