Roll on to today and Sony have had to pay cash to Atari to effectivley make it timed exclusive to the PS3.
So pretty much Sony have had to pay money to have exclusivity to a franchise from a company of which they own. Is there no wonder why Sony are getting battered financially if they make decisions like that?

Has that been said anywhere? For all we know, Sony just jumped at the chance because Atari is having financial problems by offering to take over publishing for a decreased cut, but with exclusivity somewhere. For all we know, this might be a test case for future games / movies.
Unless.... you were there at the contract meetings?
