Wolverine should do over $200M in US. WorldWide it took $160M this weekend.

Star trek is getting absolute rave reviews. 100% on rottentomatoes. This movie will appeal to all ages which means amazing legs. Oldies don't want to get crushed in the stampede so they'll take their own sweet time to see it.
$100M+ seems a lock for opening weekend.

How many reviews from "Top Critics" have been posted...0 so far. I don't want to rain on people's parades, but the Star Trek franchise hasn't had mass appeal since the early 90's. Its only been popular in particular nerdy circles since then. While I think a "reboot" of the series is a good idea, it might just fall flat on its face too.

Well my Rottentomatoes goes straight to the Australian site.100%,22 reviews,6 top critics. The general consensus is that it's one of the best sci-fi movies for a long time, bringing a lot of old elements back to the franchise- cultural relevance, intelligence, high production values, energy and most important for a sci-fi movie, a sense of wonder.

I totally understand your scepticism as the last few ST movies were dreadful but with J.J.Abrahams in charge of proceedings I don't see this bombing. If you're right, well I shall bow down to your superior powers of foresight
