Care to explain the reasoning behind this? The show shifted gears somewhere around season 9 or 10. If you were to compare episodes from beforehand with more recent ones,  you would see that it's like a totally different show. Is it so hard to believe that a good number of people don't like the direction that the show took?

 

The Reality for many as it is for me is as follows....When the Simpsons debuted oN MTV I was A kid and was a small thing when it went to fox it was bigger way bigger...This Kind of Cartoon was something that kids like me loved becuase it had wackyness no other cartoon had involving Human characters as I grew older I watched less and less Simpsons..When Family Guy came around I never even bothered to look for simpsons....saying that you don't like the direction the cartoon took is the same as saying you grew out of it...

That's definitely the case for many cartoons, but IMHO The Simpsons actually did change, and it's quite noticible. If it were the same as before, I would still be watching it.
