So M$ didnt make anything new, but Sony,Sega & nintendo did

 

1- That came out basically for FF11, well after the Xbox was announced.

2- Sega DC network was nothing like Live, you obviously never owned a Dreamcast (or at least played it online). SegaNet was about the same as the PS2 online exerience, meaning you could play online and everything else was very limited.

3- PS1 had a rumble feature which was lifted from Nintendo after the debut of the rumble pack. 

So M$ had the HD before the PS2 HD was released, Live was the first all encompassing online experience on a console, and the rumble pack was released before the Dual shock.

So from your own examples...

Microsoft - 2 firsts

Nintendo - 1 first

Sony - 0 firsts (and 2 copies)
