Aren't you guys facing some of the highest unemployment in the country?
@Kasz: North Carolinan was in the top half of states in terms of education!? Madness. We're usually at like 40ish.
That said, we have improved a lot in the past few years. Plus, North Carolina's college system is up there with California. UNC, Duke, NC State, and Wake Forest along with many other quality smaller universities. In terms of sports, UNC just won a national championship in basketball for the second time in five years, the Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup a few years ago, the Panthers lost in the Super Bowl, and the Bobcats, who were founded only a few years ago, are now competitive. Plus, Charlotte's where everything Nascar is based, if you're into that. Aside from that, you've got the mountains to your west and the beach to your east. We're doing much better than most states in terms of the economy as well.
