What this review and some of the rest of us are trying to say, I think, is that Halo 3 is great as a part of an entire body of work. When taken on its own, this is a great game, but the declarations of it being the greatest thing ever might be lost on someone new to the series. IMO, the Gears of War series is a FAR FAR more compelling reason to own a 360. |
You could replace every reference to Halo in this post with a reference to Metal Gear Solid and it wouldn't lose any meaning at all. People just have different tastes in gaming, and lots of people [read: fanboys] aren't clued in to that fact yet.
