To the OPer. Have no regrets, even though I think it was an odd decision. If there is ever a PS3 game you must play, you can always hire the console to play it, and if there is ever a number of PS3 games you want to play, by that time the PS3 will be cheaper than it is now and you will be able to buy a new one and perhaps not need to trade in anything to afford it.
Probably a good call on your part if the DS games are what float your boat.
