| Dodece said: @Mummelmann You hit the nail on the head. That is why a lot of members of this, and other online communities are getting excited. Microsoft gave us a oh so glorious gift last year. Namely a million Sony fanboys going into epileptic convulsions over that bombshell. Screaming, cursing, denouncements, questions of parentage, and oh so savory kiss of Judas that many of those fanboys gave Sony. Only so we could all smirk as they came to their senses, and went crawling back. That is why I think comments about Nintendo having something to prove is asinine. Nintendo has nothing to atone for. Last year they fed their core demographic. Which sadly isn't the core gamer anymore. Perhaps they chose the wrong venue, but it wasn't as if they did not deliver. To me the ones that have something to prove are Sony. They are the guys who got blindsided, and laid out in the eyes of many gamers. I really think Sony has to avoid another disaster like they had last year. You could say it is one thing to lose, and another thing entirely to be humiliated. The latter is what Sony got last year. They really need to avoid that. Obviously the hearts of their dedicated fans are rather delicate. Anyway I confess I would love to watch a repeat. I am sure we could see some of these wonderful lunatics hang themselves if Microsoft pulls a similar stunt this year. |
Well, Sony's lineup doesn't consist of LBP and Killzone 2, which for years were hailed as the second coming of gaming messiah, but I'd say they have a stronger lineup this year for E3, though not even a fraction of the hype per game they did last year. U2, maybe GT5, Heavy Rain and most importantly GoW3. That alone is better.
Last years meganuclearbombshell was insane. Microsoft said they are changing our view of entertainment. Remedy has been recently releasing more hints that Alan Wake will make a spectacular showing soon. Ubisoft just confirmed that Splinter Cell Conviction is gonna launch this year. Mass Effect 2, whatever-year-it-comes-out GOTY is also confirmed to make a showing at E3. Whatever happens, this E3 is gonna be something crazy.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
