I think it has more to do with MS's claim that they will "change the way we look at entertainment" or something like that. Still, its probably also because of games like Alan Wake, APB, Splinter Cell and Huxley that have absolutely huge potential and people believe we will finally start hearing concrete news about them at E3.
That, and how MS has kept so quiet lately.
GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
