"- Ubisoft discussing the lack of multiplayer: “We would love to create a multiplayer engine, but not right now. It’s single player because we want to really focus on the core mechanic and as much as we all want to kill each other with swords, it’s not going to happen this time."

In short, they apparently don't want to release an unpolished version like last time.

Which is rather perplexing coming from Ubisoft. They tend to mae their games with a minimal effort but maximum mainstream appeal to generate high sales, but everything about this game seems niche. No multiplayer, Sci-Fi western, lesser emphisis on gunplay and cel-shaded graphics...it's like thier asking for disappointing sales. So either they're setting this game up to flop so they can justifiy putting out more of their shovelware, or they actually care about the quality of the game and don't care about sales...which would be the first time they've done this since BGaE.

Or they don't think those actually lead to lower sales, which seems to be something a lot of gamers still think. There is no magic formula for what leads to better or worse sales.

Of course nothing is for sure, but outside of Wind Waker has any console cell-shaded game sold well? (I would honestly like to know) The game could in theory sell of the name of it's predesessor but you would think that Ubi would play it safe.

Perhaps they believe in their product? No company would waste money making something in order for it to not sell. It just isn't logical. This is the second thread I have seen that has vomited this insane conspiracy idea. It's as if some of the gamers on forums think that companies actually have to prove something to them, justify themselves or whatever. Sdly they only need answer to shareholders.
