| mrstickball said: Halo sold well because the series is the must-have series in the FPS genre. Competition? Halo 3 had to deal with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare shortly after it's release. Only a newbie to VGC (sorry bud) would not 'get' that Halo had major compeititon. I don't get the exclusives issue, how does that matter? The 360 had a glut of exclusives in 2007. Sorry, but I'm tired of newbies and their apologetic attitude for great SW sales on the 360. The system does well, get over it. Instead, focus on flegdling PS3 sales, and analyzing how Sony can somehow make it back to the top of the heap. |
The point is that a lot of Halo fans don't seem to realize that there are other FPS fans that don't think Halo is anything special. There's no doubting that it has been an important series for Microsoft, but I have a long list of FPS games I'd rather play before Halo. I find the Rainbow Six Vegas series, Call of Duty series, Medal of Honor Airborne, Killzone, Metroid Prime 3, Medal of Honor Heroes 2, Resistance series and Battlefield Bad Company to all be more fun than Halo. But, again, that's just me. And before you flame me...yes I've played the Halo series. Liked it. Didn't love it.
Keep this in mind when reading what I type...
I've been gaming longer than many of you have been alive.
