Why is there damage in Forza but not GT?

Also I own and have finished all GT1 - 4. Single player is fine. Online is where damage is needed as consequence.

 

 

I haven't played F2 online for quite a bit, but I remember most if not all games either had damage enabled or it was a ghost race.

I can imagine playing bumper cars online must be troublesome =)
