School Rumble both season are really funny
Gunbuster and Diesbuster are interesting
Nadesico is pretty funny
Air is a good artsy an weird one
Some feature films... Grave of Fireflies (if you a suicidal emo dont watch that movie), Millennium Actress, Wings of Honnemaise, Tokyo Godfathers, Princess Mononoke.
Some you will have to torrent are:
Hanbun No Tsuki Ga Noboru Sora
Bokura ga Ita
Both of those are romantic/drama but aren't horrible.
