I'm assuming you find the ToV storyline better....

I found ToV complex, but complex in a bad way. As in they had a low budget or little time so they just thought of a bunch of additional plot elements that worked out badly. In FFXII it was simpler, but I found myself more immersed in the world. The ToV story was so ridiculously stupid that I couldn't help but look at it from a distance.
