Basically a poor imitation built with no real valuie.
There was a time when loads of people were bringing in 32GB USB sticks, which would appear to accept 32GB of data, but only the first 4GB was written, then rest was just zeros and a file name, when you pulled the files back off during the test the data was corrupt.
