Depends on what type of smoker they are most likely. If they just don't care about their scent, then yeah, they'll be used to because they will just go around smelling like smoke, but if they use fresheners and whatnot to eliminate the odor after they smoke then they may be able to tell if they smell like smoke more.
Like if you wash and use deodorant regularly, then you can usually tell the days when your BO is making an appearance. At least that's been my experience.
