There are 600+ cases in the USA, and 0 deaths of Americans. Any respectable country (ie, first world) will easily be able to contain and combat this flu. Because thats what it is: flu. If this was a more easily spread SARS, we may have a problem. But all this is, is a different flu strain. Even under worst-case scenarios, where the flu is not contained for 2 years...We may have 300 million deaths. That's hardly a dent in the world population. |
Actually most likely scenario is that its going to be far worse than typical flu as it will spread to a far greater percentage of the population and probably have a somewhat higher mortality rate.
Worst case scenario is that it will be much much worse than the typical flu as not only will it be a pandemic but it will also mutate into a more virulent form and have a much higher mortality rate.
