If the PSP Go rumors are true and there is no UMD drive, then this basically is a new unit, not an upgraded/enhanced one.  Here are my thoughts on the matter. It's an upgrade, enhanced one, the DSi has different specs than the DS and DSL and will have some games that can only be played on it, yet we all still think it's still an upgrade.

*Existing owners would have to upgrade their UMD entire collections as there would be no way to play them. Only if you want to get the new PSP and we don't know if there'll be some kind of trade in program.

*Game stores may decline to sell the units because they can't make money on game sales (especially the lucrative used game market). Highly doubt that, do you think Sony just came out and said okay guys this is our new PSP, Best Buy, Target, Walmart, what do you think? Plus they'll probably still sell vouchers in stores and I reckon there'll still be UMD releases for those that want that.

* Sony may use this as a beta test for a digital-distribution predominantly/only PS4. (That cuts down on piracy and ties games to consoles/owners). HIGHLY unlikely, PS4 will probably be Blu Ray, and PS3 still hasn't been hacked. PSP Go is probably a bridge to DD only PSP2.

If Sony actually does this, I wonder if it will be more successful than the Zune?

I also wonder if all the software announcements made/expected are DD-only. And they got people on board by promising low distribution costs and "no" piracy.

Still hoping to find a good condition, reasonably priced 60G PS3 so I can get into the system with B/C.
