I have 4 1/2 days worth of online multiplayer in COD4, plus another two days in COD:WaW. I've enjoyed every second of both. No single player FPS adventure could ever equal that.
In other genres, it would depend, but I really only do shooters and sports games online anyways. For sports games I would choose multiplayer again because of friends and online leagues.
