i must say i have complained to nordlead about playing and having too many games, but i kind of feed the problem...i am usual the one who buys him a game for birthdays or christmas or tell other people what games he might like. however, one year for his birthday(just before we got married) i decided to get him a game cube so that he would have a system when we got married(im such a great wife) cause the ones he did have were also his brothers...anyway, i got it for him and then next year, he gave it to his brother for his birthday, cause we got a wii(that is technically mine cause he brought it home at like 2 in the afternoon when he should have been at work, and i had been really sick, and he told me it was a get well gift...yeah right) who then sold it a few months later. i was so not happy.
getting something that she will like to play with you is a good idea. i like it when i find i game that i can win too. its not so nice to play games with someone who plays all of them all the time and you feel you don't have a chance, so find a game that either your not that great at or a game that she likes and you just don't care to get that great at...
