I'm not sure if the per capita rate of PSP's in the West is enough to give the local multiplayer aspect enough value to most customers. I did a thread on this before, the DS and PSP both exploded in Japan after they reached a certain per capita point(Monster Hunter coincided with this), a point the DS is only just reaching in the West and the PSP is still a way off from.

The only chance there is of similar success being replicated is if there's some place where the PSP per person rate is much higher, presumably schools and possibly colleges. It would have to grow from that to give the PSP the same success it's had in Japan.
