I'm curious what you would consider good sales for a JRPG? Aside from ToV which is sadly not the sales it deserves, the rest you mention seem to be in line with what JRPGs sold on the PS2. Take out anything not named Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest or Kingdom Hearts and the number of million+ sellers is a very short one, and the PS2 has sold, what, more than 4 TIMES what the Xbox 360 has to date? So what how many units should a JRPG need to sell to be considered a success in your mind? Keep in mind some of those also either haven't been released yet in Europe or we don't have data for them in that region. |
May i remind you that no tales except the first tales of symphonia on gamecube actually sold 1 millions units worldwide in one version? (because, yes of course, phantasia has 4 versions, destiny has 3, eternia has 2, destiny 2 has 2, rebirth has 2, symphonia has 2, legendia and abyss and tempest and innocence have one, hearts has two, vesperia will got it's second version, tos 2 has one).
So, even if i, supposely, don't share your feelings for tov, as a tales fan last tales makes me wanna scream and play old ones, no tales and even more the new tales, deserves good sales as even good tales don't do 500k sales lifetimes worldwide, except for symphonia 1.
