Are you joking? If there is any big budget movie that is going to tank this year, it is Star Trek. Harry Potter, Transformers 2, and either Terminator 4 or Angels and Demons will be the biggest of the big money. Wolverine may surprise everyone and put up some really good numbers. Star Trek may do well, but it isn't going to be anything more than a modest success.

Well we'll find out pretty soon I guess
. The Star Trek brand has been stalled for years after a bunch of terrible movies and that dreadful Enterprise series. A prequel movie makes a lot of sense in this case as it had nowhere else to go. This movie has everything a big summer movie needs. It's a fresh take on one of the best known franchises, looks to have spectacular action set pieces and enough humour to stop everything being taken so seriously. This movie could connect with old fans that had given up & young fans drawn in by the special effects/action. It's multi-cultural cast won't hurt it's prospects either(especially worlwide).
Angels & Demons doesn't have the controversy angle DaVinci had(not for want of trying though) so I don't think this will get anywhere near it. It'll probably be the summer film that will attract the older crowd so it will probably have some of the best legs.
After watching Wolverine yesterday, I'm even more certain it'll crash in it's second weekend(it'll still be very big due to a huge 1st weekend). A prequel was not the greatest idea really. They've touched on the subject enough in the previous XMEN movies. They should have just made a new XMEN movie but keep the main focus on Wolverine.
Playing: Borderlands(great co-op,HUGE amount of content),Too Human(better late than never lol),Saints Row 3(Penetrator ftw),Minecraft 360,Harry Potter Lego.
Patiently waiting for: Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2
