This is pathetic.

The U.S. claims to be the country for freedom, liberty, and justice.

Reality is the U.S. say this when everything is fine and dandy, but changes its tunes once someone threatens them.

Reality is that the U.S. must change its motto...you either uphold a form of unclear idealism, or just admit that you are as scared as anybody else once somebody makes a threat against your life. Can't have your cake and eat it too, can ya?

Pakistan might have to make some tough moral choices too. Since the Taliban looks like they might be getting ready to rush Islambad. You might want to work on the beard just to be safe.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.
