It's no RPG and it's far from perfect, but hey, at least I have stuff going on in the picture and I actually populated the environment.

So there you go, I did better smartass.  :-p

 

Your pictures are great but I have to say one thing. They have to also do storyline and gameplay as well.

Plus they may not be as talented as you :P

All those pictures have storyline and gameplay associated with them, though on a smaller scale since they were student projects and most of those were done in less than a week (except for the black and white one and the Quake 4 one with the two dead guys).

The story of each of those pictures that you can infer from the picture alone:

  • Pic 1: You're stranded on a derelict space ship that the Strogg have ransacked (since it is the Quale 4 universe).  You're probably the only one alive and there are probably Strogg roaming about the ship.
  • Pic 2: You are in the Strogg Putrification Plant and come to a series of belts and machines.  You see a door below you that might be an exit and the only way to reach that exit looks like is to ride these belts and hope the Strogg don't catch you while on them.
  • Pic 3: You're in some sort of underground ancient temple.  Doesn't really have a story since it's a multiplayer only map, but it does provide plenty of setting and atmosphere.
  • Pic 4: You're in a Russian mansion trying to get to what is being kept in the cage on the other side of the room but you have to find a way past the lasers to get to it.

Just because something isn't an RPG doesn't mean it doesn't have story, setting, and atmosphere.

Hey, I also said the other stuff was fantastic.  Sure, it can still use work but I'm still assuming there's plenty of time to work on it.

My main gripe is that those battle screens are just bad and I have no idea why you would release those to the public looking that bad. 

There's showing pics that show potential and show that you're still working on the game and then there's showing pics that just turn people off to the game no matter what stage it's in.
