Well not all stores close at 5pm, but many many small businesses do. They DO have families they care for, unlike people in the US. And you can have amazing quality of life in a city like that. Stores close, bars and clubs open a few hours later (in Atlanta they are required by law to close at 2PM, WTF is that? Clubs shouldn't even be full that early). Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're a US federation citizen (reading from your profile) and you've pledged allegiance to the US federation and the flag. You have sworn an oath to the american system and it's foundation and you are obliged to pursue a life of happiness (the american dream). Why would you want to live here in Europe? :/
