This is a very valid point you make,
But the problem is, our main TV broke and we needed a new one, HD tv's have fallen in price in the UK as this is the only type of tv they sell now, so we got a top spec 52" 1080P HD (100hz, 5x hdmi, bluetooth, usb, blar blar) for a really good price (£589 with discount - hardly a fortune for a full hd tv), we needed a tv anyway so why not!
I paid almost double this for my PC late last year and what a waste when I could have got a PC for £299 that would do everything I need it to do seeing as I won't be playing games on PC anymore.
