They could just as eaisly be Jewish people now. 

Really as far as I know the Philistines and Canninites were Greek anyway.

I was thinking that the Philistines were integrated into Assyria, not sure though.

Regardless, the Assyrians, Babylonians, and Hebrews all integrated other people into their own.  Though the Hebrews were more violent in that integration.  Using the Bible as a source, intermarriage with Philistines and Canaanites was a problem for early Israel and Hebrews often made captured Canaanite women into wives and slaves.  And slavery back then is much different than we think of it now, slaves and free people often intermarried, you could sale children into slavery, and so forth.
